Audit Partner

You will lead Benford's audit practice in Germany, owning strategy, clients, delivery and quality. You are a qualified auditor who signs opinions, and you will build the market from the first engagement onwards.

Why Benford

At the small and mid-market end, audit has been quietly abandoned. The largest firms are stepping back from it while fees keep rising, and the companies left behind still need an opinion they can trust. Every previous attempt to fix this aimed at the auditor's desk: better tools for the same firm, doing the work the same way.

We went the other way and built the firm itself. Benford runs the statutory audit end to end, from the client's systems to the signed opinion. We hold the licence, we build the platform and we employ the auditor who signs. AuditOS connects to the systems a company runs on and carries the work from one year to the next, so the second audit starts where the first finished. Routine work is done by systems, judgement stays with people.

What you'll own

• The German practice: strategy, market entry, client relationships and the shape of the portfolio from the first engagement onwards.
• Quality and the opinion. You scope engagements, rule on exceptions and sign.
• How the audit is actually delivered here, working directly with engineers and product to shape AuditOS around real German engagements.
• The first hires in the market, and the standard they are held to.

Who we're looking for

• A qualified auditor with the standing and experience to own the opinion.
• Comfortable building a practice rather than inheriting one, including the commercial side.
• You are interested in why the process works the way it does, not only in following it.
