Audit Senior

You run statutory audit engagements at Benford, from scoping through to the file that supports the opinion. You do it inside a firm where the platform is built in the same room as the audit, so the way you work this year becomes the way the firm works next year.

Why Benford

Audit at the small and mid-market end has been left behind. The largest firms are stepping back from it while fees keep rising, and the companies that still need a statutory audit get less attention for more money.

Every previous attempt to fix this aimed at the auditor's desk and left the firm untouched. We went the other way and integrated vertically: we hold the licence, we build the platform and we employ the auditor who signs. AuditOS connects to the systems a client runs on, ERP, subledgers, invoices and banks, and carries the work from one year to the next so the second audit starts where the first finished. Routine work is done by systems. Judgement stays with people.

What you'll own

• Engagements end to end: planning, risk and materiality, execution and the file that stands behind the opinion.
• The quality bar on your engagements, including how exceptions are resolved and documented.
• The client relationship through the year, not only at year end.
• Direct input into the product. You sit with engineers, and what frustrates you in the workflow is something you can get changed.

Who we're looking for

• Audit experience from a reputable firm, with real exposure to statutory engagements.
• Qualified or well on the way.
• Comfortable working alongside engineers and explaining audit reasoning to people who are not auditors.
• You are interested in why the process works the way it does, not only in following it.
