Product Designer

You own how AuditOS feels, from a client's first contact with Benford to the deep daily use of an auditor mid-engagement. You own the whole loop: question, research, insight, shipped product.

Why Benford

Audit at the small and mid-market end has been abandoned. The largest firms are stepping back from it while fees keep rising, and every previous attempt to modernise it aimed at the auditor's desk and left the firm itself untouched.

We went the other way. Benford is a tech-native audit firm that runs the statutory audit end to end, from the client's systems to the signed opinion. We hold the licence, we build the platform and we employ the auditor who signs. Routine work is done by systems, judgement stays with people. That means the design work here is not a layer on top of someone else's process. You are designing the firm.

What you'll own

• The end-to-end experience of AuditOS, for the auditors who live in it and the clients who meet it once a year.
• Research as a standing practice. You spend real time with customers, inside their environments, understanding how they think and how they work.
• The translation from insight to shipped product: workflows, interaction patterns, and the decisions that make an audit legible on screen.
• The design language and standards of a product that is still early enough for your choices to become the default.

Who we're looking for

• Evidence over seniority. We care about what you have shipped and how you reasoned about it, side projects included.
• Strong product sense, comfortable getting into the detail of a complex domain rather than staying at the surface.
• Fluent building with AI natively, not bolted on afterwards.
• You think about what does not exist yet, not about what is currently done.

Our stack

• TypeScript monorepo, React with Vite and TanStack on the frontend. Every client talks to the gateway through Apollo Client against one GraphQL contract, so the shape of an audit is defined in a single place.
• Temporal for durable execution. An audit runs for weeks, so workflows survive restarts and retries without bespoke orchestration.
• Vercel AI SDK against Amazon Bedrock for inference. Agentic document workflows over client accounting systems, with every step logged and attributable to a named auditor. The hard part is not the model, it is control and evidence.
• Integrations: direct connections into ERPs, subledgers, banks and invoicing systems. Messy, real, and where most of the value is.
